| Greetings all, Just wanted to show off my Z-o-Lantern. I was at the third annual pumpkin carving party in my little circle of friends, and all the store-bought patterns failed to enthuse me, so I went back to a really cool pic I found here on twinturbo.net. The pattern was lifted from the post by BooZTT (Hawaii), without permission. Please don't take it personally, wherever you are, I'm not doing it for fame or profit! Here are the pics. The first is front-lit:
And the second is by it's own light only (a little hard to see via camera):
The trick is to scrape the pumpkin from the inside toward the front face until the flesh is very thin. Then removal of the orange skin lets the light filter through the remaining flesh translucently. The wheels, headlights, and foglights are cut all the way through. If I were really careful, I could probably scrape more carefully to even-out the light levels coming through, but I ran out of time...the dinner was ready!
